Business valuation

The requirement for a business valuation usually originates from:

  • a strategic review
  • succession planning
  • acquisitions and mergers
  • funding applications
  • litigation involving commercial disputes
  • tax restructuring
  • divorce proceedings
  • the need to sell a business.

Valuations are often complex and prudence should be applied in seeking out as appropriately qualified and experienced specialist. We understand valuations and have structured our service offering around the specific experience of our Principals who have, collectively, conducted numerous assignments. Both Trevor and Andy have worked on assignments involving publicly listed and private companies – be it shares, debentures, preference shares, options or intellectual property. They have also valued entire businesses, controlling and fractional interests, bundles of assets and even participation rights.

Their experience ensures that both local and global business perspectives and benchmarks are considered. We are members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants – Valuation Special Interest Group, and appropriately accredited through FINSIA. We regularly receive requests to act as lecturers, advisors to business owners, Boards of Directors, our colleagues in the CA/CPA community and as expert witnesses. We also regularly work with our clients’ strategic leaders to develop strategies and strategic business plans which leverage the drivers of value and mitigate the associated risks.
