Trevor has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Accountancy and is a Chartered Accountant with over thirty years of professional accounting, advisory and auditing experience with numerous SME’s, smaller listed groups, sporting clubs and pubs, charities, cultural and arts organisations and incorporated associations. Trevor understands how accounting for projects, grants and grant-acquittals work, plus the importance of auditing and properly presenting audited financial statements.

Trevor started his career in audit at Ernst & Young in Johannesburg, South Africa. He gained valuable experience in building that practice, working closely with the firm’s national Technical partner and providing assurance and audit services to a diverse range of clients, including 3 listed mining groups; various banks (investment and general) and a host of smaller businesses in the resource and engineering industries, as well as larger FMCG and energy clients like BP-Amoco.

Prior to joining Lattice, Trevor was a corporate finance partner for a national network firm based in Brisbane and prior to that he had the role of leading the regional Equity Markets practice for Ernst and Young Southern Africa, and previously Deloitte.

His external audit experience includes 9 years with Big 4 firms, and almost a decade providing audit and assurance services to the not-for-profit sector. Trevor has also held various advisory Board roles – initially for the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (Alt-X); a number of listed companies in Southern Africa; also as the regional Vice President of the Australia Africa Business Council, a leading Queensland Arts organisation and as the past Board-Chair, Treasurer and currently the Chair of the audit and risk committee, of a national cancer organisation.

Joan is a highly regarded migration professional and has practiced, exclusively, in migration law since 2009. She is responsible for leading most complex client matters including Employer and regional sponsored visas, independent points-based visas, business skills migration, family or partner visas. Joan also has primary responsibility for many of the firm’s corporate clients and for mentoring staff and trainees.

Joan was born in South Africa, and qualified as an attorney in 1994. She has practiced widely as an attorney, initially as an Employment lawyer for a tier 1-law firm, later as a lecturer in labour law and more recently (from 1999) as an Aviation law specialist and legal counsel for both British Airways (Comair) and South African Airways. Joan was one, of only three, South African representatives attending the Montreal Convention – which amended important provisions of the Warsaw regime concerning compensation for the victims of air disasters and which established uniformity and predictability of rules relating to international air carriage.

Primary responsibility for many of the firm’s corporate clients and for mentoring staff and trainees.
